UEL were assigned the task of procuring and delivering two electric buses and a charging station to the island of Nauru for the SMARTEN/UNDP project.
Nauru currently lacks a public transportation system, and many of their vehicles are outdated and inefficient. This project aimed to provide accessible transportation for those without private vehicles and to introduce reliable, sustainable mobility solutions that reduce fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Both buses have been successfully delivered along with the charging station where a ceremonial handover was held to mark the occasion.
We extend our gratitude to our partners Astrolabe Shipping Ltd for their exceptional support and efforts in transporting the buses and the charging station for this crucial project.
